Molly Hurford of the Consummate Athlete podcast interviews my friend Katie and I about our recent FKT attempt at the Juan de Fuca Trail on Vancouver Island. The Juan de Fuca is a gnarly 47km trail along the coast with waist high mud, technical terrain, and over 2000 meters (6500 feet) of climbing.
We talk female friendships and how running brought us a community of women that also like to play in the mud.
PS FKT's are a bit confusing so we chat about having the unsupported female team record, and why we still we still need to go back for the supported overall.

April went from not being able to run 60 seconds to running the Chicago Marathon. When she was in the darkest place in her life she buckled down and got out the door. She didn’t know anything about running, she just wanted to have peace in her mind and to love life again, and she did!
