If you met Heather, you'd think she was just a badass lady that runs fast and makes a ton of friends. What you wouldn't guess, is that she has been through the wringer time and time again. In 2000 she started experiencing random physical symptoms like open sores, hair loss, facial lesions and rashes. Diagnosed with Systemic Lupus and an extreme sensitivity to the sun, she retired from road running to find shade in the trails.
