If you had to sum up the community of trail running in one word, it would probably be Lisa. Lisa is the founder of the Wild Women running group in Nanaimo BC. Her and her mom started racing when Lisa was 20 years old as a way to meet people after a move. Lisa was the youngest in the group but never let age or speed deter her from enjoying the group. Her and mom quickly became intertwined in the running community in Nanaimo and ran their first marathon together. After Lisa’s mom was diagnosed with cancer, she found her peace in the trails. Eventually the pair was running together again and training for a trail half marathon. Lisa’s love for the trails led to creating the Wild Women trail running group. It started with a handful of runners, and now only a few years later it has over 1400 members!
The women of the trails share their stories about running, racing, and life. These badass ladies from around the globe get honest about everything from competing, motherhood, and trying to have it all. Get ready for training ideas, gear tips, and a healthy dose of inspiration.
