172 Devon: Fast at every distance

Devon has run more than 50 Marathon (including 40 sub 3 hour marathons) and 65 Ultras since 2006. She's a 7 time member of Team USA including 2009 Gold Medal winning team in Belgium for the 100k and 2019 silver medal team in Romania for the 50k.. 2007, 2012 & 2015 RRCA Marathon National Champion. 2010 and 2019 50 mile road National Champion, 2011 100k road National Champion. 2012 & 2016 Olympic Trials marathoner and has a marathon PR of 2:38:55.

Myke raced both road and trail as a young adult, running everything from a sub 3 hour marathon to an insanely fast 50mile. We chat about his struggle with anxiety as the stress of running started to pile up and how he found a way to stay involved in the trail running community. He's now the race director of the Finlayson Arm 28km/50km/100km in Victoria. This 100km has 6000 meters of elevation (20 000 feet), and is known to be the 100km that runs like 100miles, because it's downright savage.

Dawn is an Ultra runner raising two teenagers with her husband, and working full time as a nurse in the operating room and emergency room. She loves motivating others, and has found that her running achievements have given her the ability to do that.

It took about 6 marathons for Shelby to call herself a “runner.” She dabbled in sports in high school: lacrosse, swimming, sailing, a teeny bit of field hockey, she tried hard, but was pretty bad. Often the winner of the “spirit award” because of her positive attitude and poster making obsession.

April: How running can make you happy

April went from not being able to run 60 seconds to running the Chicago Marathon. When she was in the darkest place in her life she buckled down and got out the door. She didn’t know anything about running, she just wanted to have peace in her mind and to love life again, and she did! She is now 4 years in the game and loving what running has done for her and her life.

Reid: Delta Firefighter's Marathon in Full Gear for B.C. Children's Hospital

Reid Taylor is a Delta Firefighter who has now run 2 marathons wearing 45-pounds of his turnout gear. Reid has always been an athlete but endurance running was something entirley new to him. After his first marathon he began to get chest pains and training stopped abruptly. We chat about how he overcame a 90% blockage in his artery and eventually geared up to run the marathon a second time in March 2024.
