Julie has been running long distance for more than 20 years. After running Boston in 2012, she turned to ultras as a new challenge and has been mostly running in the trails ever since. In the last few years, Julie completed Squamish 50/50 in 2018 as well as WAM 110 in 2019. She lives in Vancouver and works as a vice-principal in a local high school.

/I was so lucky to chat with Amelia Bice, an up and coming trail runner in Australia. The 11 year old recently completed a 9.9km trail race, where she noticed a pain in her stomach mid race. She toughed out the race and ran to the finish, only to be taken the hospital to have her appendix out that night! She's now fully recovered and looking to build up to run 20km one day. She may be young, but she's full of wisdom.
