Pam began running in high school as a mid-pack mile runner to stay in shape in the off-season from soccer. She has a degree in literally everything, but decided to follow her passion and opened the first trail running store in Texas, Austin Trail Running Company. Her first trail race was a 20miler in 2007 She had no idea what she was doing, thinking you didn't need to train much since you "run slower" on trails..... she left the race pretty banged up but hooked!

She couldn't train during pregnancy with a subchorionic haematoma, and once she began running postpartum she was quickly stopped by pubic symphysis diastasi. She tells her story of her first 50km made possible by the support from her husband, her team of doctors, and of course, a ton of hard work juggled with raising tiny humans.

/Dena had to overcome some of the toughest things a child could go through. Instead of letting it get her down, she found running and became one of the most positive and inspirational people I've spoken to. The mom of 8 recently finished 2 x 200mile races that were 11 days apart, coming in 3FOA and 2OA /2F. Oh, and did I mention she home schools all 8 of her children? We no longer have the "I'm too busy," excuse.
