E108 Jessica: Childhood trauma can't slow her down→
/Jessica grew up with a severely mentally ill mother. Her story is gut wrenching, and yet here is another guest who came out stronger. Her most recent accomplishments include a 2nd and 3rd female in the Quarantine Backyard Ultras.
She explained it best in her bio, relating to other guests with childhood trauma, "the theme is still childhood (and some adulthood) trauma, and though the details are somewhat different, the arc is again that those experiences evolved from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth, and ultimately a self-efficacy I wouldn't have without climbing out of adversity".
